Ice and Fishing Report 12/18/2024

Happy Ice Fishing Everybody! We have been patiently waiting to do our first ice report, and are excited to finally see GREAT ice conditions after a few terrible years. On most area lakes we are seeing 8-12 inches of good/ black ice, and are seeing a lot of fisherman putting out small to mid size permanent houses with ATV's. As i write this there is virtually zero snow on the ice, so be prepared for slippery ice! We are forecasted to get some snow today, but hopefully wont be to much. Ice conditions are great, but as always check the ice depths to and from your fishing location. We expect a busy weekend with even more houses going out!

We haven't heard a ton of reports, but the walleye reports we are hearing are reporting the best bite in the low light conditions of morning/evening on mid lake humps, points, and shoreline breaks in 14-20 feet of water. Set lines with a shiner, sucker, or rainbow are producing well, as well as a small jig tipped with a minnow. This bite should continue to be good for the foreseeable future!

We are currently sitting good on bait, and should have plenty rainbows, shiners, medium and small suckers, fatheads and crappies, as well as spearing decoys and waxworms for the weekend.

We are expecting it to be a busy weekend, and look forward to seeing you all soon! Happy Fishing Everybody, and STAY SAFE!
