Summer is here, and the fishing is really picking up here in lakes country! The water temp has finally reached that magical temp where the bite has really picked up on all area lakes. The minnow bite is still good, but leeches and crawlers are really starting to shine for walleyes. Big Pine, Little Pine, Rush, Star, Otter Tail and other area lakes are producing walleyes in various depths and with a number of different presentations. The best depth we are hearing has been 10-20 feet on flats, points, and mid - lake humps. We are starting to hear more and more anglers having success in 20-30+ feet of water, so don't be afraid to try a bit deeper if struggling to find the walleyes. Jigs and minnows/soft plastics is still producing, and the Lindy rig bite has really been good the last few days, as well as a slip bobber bite. Minnows, leeches, and crawlers are all producing well. Spinners tipped with a crawler have also just started to produce. That is the beautiful thing about early June, no matter how you like to fish, the fish are biting!

The panfish bite has also remained good. The spawn has wrapped up, and anglers are having success in 6-14 feet of water. The key to finding the bluegill and crappie right now is to find the nicest cabbage weed close to where the fish spawned the last couple of weeks... they will be there!

The weather has been great and fishing has been getting better every day, and we expect a very busy weekend. Happy Fishing Everybody!
