Fishing Report 3/21

As we close in on the end of March , fishing remains very good for both panfish and tullibees. With the warm weather we have been having, the snow has melted and getting around the lakes has become a lot easier. Once you are on the lake, vehicle and atv travel has been relatively smooth. The biggest issue is getting onto the lake, as many of the access's are getting fairly rough. A majority of the panfish are being caught under 12 feet of water, and as we move forward don't be afraid to try up in as shallow as 5 feet. A larger tungsten jig tip with a few wax warms has been the go to bait for putting bluegill and crappie on the ice. Majority of the panfish are being caught in the low light conditions of morning and evening, and can be found in their spring transition areas of the lake. When the ice goes off, most of fish will head to the warmest water area of the , often creeks, rivers, or shallow water bays, to find warm water and forage. Right now they are staging outside these areas in 4 to 12 feet of water and are ready to be caught!
